Pet safety is a top priority at Griffindopet. While incidents are infrequent, it’s important to acknowledge the inherent risks involved in pet grooming. Our team employs the highest degree of care, yet challenges such as cuts, nicks, scratches, or quickening of nails may arise, particularly when pets are restless or move during grooming.

In the rare event of an incident, our commitment to transparency is steadfast. We will promptly communicate any occurrence, regardless of severity, to the pet owner. This commitment upholds our value of maintaining an open and trustworthy client relationship.Certain factors beyond our control, including matting, advanced age, aggressive behavior, or challenging temperament, may contribute to incidents. In such cases, any resulting veterinary expenses will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner.Rest assured, the safety and well-being of your pet remain our primary focus. In the unlikely event of an incident, we adhere to a strict protocol of immediate notification and appropriate action.

Your trust in Griffindopet is highly valued, and we are dedicated to providing a secure and enjoyable grooming experience for your furry companion.

First Groom Experience Policy

Navigating your dog’s initial professional grooming session is a pivotal event. This introduction to a new realm of sensory experiences requires thoughtful consideration. To ensure a seamless debut grooming, we outline the following guidelines:

Adjusting to the sensations of mobile dog grooming:
Your dog encounters a spectrum of new sights, sounds, and sensations during their first mobile grooming experience. Our expert groomers are trained to acclimate them a safe and gentle manner.

Behavioral and Medical Insight:
During the pre-groom consultation, please share any behavioral or medical insights about your dog. This information guides our grooming strategy, enhancing your dog’s comfort and well-being.

Grooming Prudence:
In rare cases, if the well-being of your dog or our groomers necessitates a halt in grooming, a nominal charge will apply. This safeguard ensures that all parties involved are protected.

Matting Policy

Matting Evaluation:
Matting in pets’ coats can be a challenge for you and your pup. In cases of minimal matting, no extra fee will be incurred, exemplifying our commitment to your pet’s well-being.

Extended Grooming Attention:
Should matting necessitate over 15 minutes of dedicated care, an additional brush fee will be applied. This fee guarantees the meticulous treatment your pet’s coat deserves. Dematting charges are $25.00 per 15 minutes.

Groomer’s Discretion:
Our seasoned groomer technicians will evaluate the situation. If matting removal proves intricate or causes your pet discomfort, the groomer may temporarily pause the grooming process. You will be consulted before the groomer makes any decisions regarding trimming or shaving.

Option for Shaving:
In instances of severe matting, a shave-down may be recommended by the groomer. If a groomer recommends a shave-down and you opt out of it, the groomer is unable to perform other grooming services involving a bath and haircut. Unfortunately, there are no refunds or discounts in this scenario.

Risks Associated with De-Matting:
Matting heightens the possibility of nicks, scratches, and cuts during grooming. Moreover, restricted oxygen flow under mats may lead to skin redness, itchiness, irritation and even bleeding. Our team cannot be held accountable for any grooming-related injuries or consequences related to de-matting or otherwise.

Preventative Measures:
Our groomers are expert at coat maintenance. They are happy to provide tips and tricks about how to minimize or prevent matting between appointments. Feel free to ask your groomer about the best methods to maintain your pet’s coat.

Severe Matting:
In cases of severe matting, mats may intertwine with the skin, potentially causing cuts. Nicks, cuts, or abrasions are particularly common in dematting these pups. We are not liable for these incidents. We greatly appreciate your trust in Griffindopet for your pet grooming needs. The policies above are designed to ensure your pet’s comfort and safety, upholding the highest grooming standards. Parking Policy

Please help us by providing a flat surface that will accommodate the dimensions of our vans:

Van Dimensions:

Our vans, measuring a neat 8 feet by 19.5 feet, prefer a spacious and level playing field. Just like our furry clients, they thrive in comfort.

Parking Meter / Ticket Fees:
To ensure a seamless experience, kindly note that metered parking and the dreaded parking tickets may invite an extra charge. If parking seems tight, don’t be surprised if we reach out to ask you for advice on the best place to park!

Privacy Policy

Dog behavior is significantly different when their owners are not present, for the betterment of the groomer. It’s important that your dog adapts to the sensations of mobile dog grooming without you present, so we please ask that you grant the groomer and your pup privacy during the duration of the grooming service. However, you are more than welcome to peek inside the van before and after the groom to have a look around.

Sedation Policy

For the safety and well-being of your beloved furry companions, we uphold a firm policy of not accepting dogs for grooming if they have been sedated or tranquilized with prescription medications. This includes any prescription medication administered for grooming purposes or within 72 hours preceding our arrival for other reasons. We empathize with the concern of witnessing your dog’s distress during grooming, vet visits, travel, storms, or separation anxiety. If your dog has been prescribed sedatives by a specialist veterinarian, we kindly request you to notify us before the scheduled appointment so that we can cancel the appointment. While medications such as Acepromazine (ACE), Trazodone, and Gabapentin are often prescribed with good intentions by family veterinarians, their use can have severe consequences. Acepromazine, in particular, can render your pet immobile while failing to alleviate anxiety. This paradoxical effect can lead to injuries, worsened anxiety over time, and heightened susceptibility to seizures, heart issues, and drowsiness.

Vaccination Policy

All puppies must have completed all 3 rounds (8, 12, and 16 weeks) of vaccinations. This includes the DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo) and Rabies vaccines + boosters. Adult dogs (1 year+) must be up to date on their rabies boosters. Lastly, it is highly recommended that your pet be vaccinated for Bordatella.

Please wait at least 48 hours from any vaccinations given before your pets next appointment.

Water Availability Policy

Our vans carry 65 gallon water tanks that we fill up every morning, but sometimes we run low if our groomers are back-to-back with big dogs. We may ask to fill up a portion of the tank with a hose at your house, and we appreciate any help we can get with this!
